❖ Flicker means if the scanning rate of the picture is
low, the time taken to move one frame to
another frame will be high. This results in
the alternate bright and dark picture in the
screen. This is called “Flicker”.
❖ This results in a definite flicker of light that is
very annoying to the observer when the
the screen is made alternately bright and dark.
❖ To avoid flicker, the scanning rate of the picture
should be increased i.e. 50 frames/Sec.
❖ As a result of the increased blanking rate,
flicker is eliminated.
